PHUNG HAUNG DONG TIEN
HISTORY OF PHOENIX
"Delta Gas and Electric"
This small building was situated at
the far end of the compound at Embassy House. Constructed of
corrugated iron, stucco and much sound proofing.
The Electric stood for a
hand-cranked magnet which distributed direct current through two
wires connected to alligator clips.
The Gas stood for succinylcholine,
which caused the lungs to starve for oxygen, causing loss of muscle
control. This was the home of the Province chief, a Vietnamese who
should have been protecting his people instead of exploiting them.
All this to win a war against
people who, accept war as a way of life. The war was never won,
mores and pity, and some are still fighting it. God Bless them all.
